Join Austin Jazz Society as it continues its collaboration with Monks Jazz Club in the series known as MidWeek at Monks. October 2nd sees Austin veteran Paul Klemperer bringing his quartet to this wonderful listening room.

Based in Austin, Texas, saxophonist Paul Klemperer plays an eclectic mix of jazz, blues, American popular music and world music. As a performer and bandleader he tours nationally and internationally. He also has a masters degree in ethnomusicology (University of Texas), teaches private and group classes, hosts a monthly Community Jazz Jam, and produces concerts and workshops through his nonprofit Creative SEA. Paul’s varied musical experience began in Boston, MA, where he studied with such jazz greats as Ray Copeland, Archie Shepp and Max Roach. Moving to Texas in 1982, Paul became a fixture in the Austin jazz and blues circuit, touring with renowned artists like Marcia Ball and Malford Milligan, and has opened for world-class artists such as BB King, The Neville Brothers, Ray Charles, Larry Carlton, and James Brown. A prolific composer, Paul has released 5 albums of original music.
