What we’re about
This is a group for people who enjoy writing poetry, who would like an audience for their poetry, or who enjoy listening to and reading other people's poems.
Each monthly meeting we will have a writing prompt and then 30 minutes of writing time. Afterwards, everyone is invited to share what they wrote with the group if they like.
There will then be 2 presenters each month who have volunteered in advance to share 2 or 3 of their poems that they've already written. Each poet will have 10 minutes or so of uninterrupted time to present. If they do not enjoy orating, another poet may volunteer to recite in their place. Then there will be a round of reaction and critique, unless the poet requests none.
The presenting poets will be featured on The Barrington Suns Instagram and Facebook pages. If the poet would rather remain anonymous they can ask not to be.
The vibe is fun and respectful. The meeting location is Easy Tiger at The Linc, outside if the weather is nice, and upstairs if it isn't.
