Violet Crown Walk - Dick Nichols Park to Wildflower Center

Starting at Dick Nichols Park, we'll take a moderately brisk walk to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center along the new sections of the Violet Crown Trail. Our route is out-and-back, 7 miles round trip, flat, along mostly hard-packed dirt.

Often we go out for food and drink afterwards.

The VCT is a work in progress. Once complete, the 30-mile trail will provide a unique recreational experience as it passes through the urban wildlands of the Barton Creek Wilderness Park, the City of Sunset Valley, City of Austin Water Quality Protection Lands, and eventually into Hays County.
