Details

This is a Hybrid Event, you can attend either in-person or online. This event page is for registering IN-PERSON. If you want to attend online, please RSVP at the other event page.

“Independent Living is a philosophy and a movement of people with disabilities who work for self-determination, equal opportunities and self-respect. Independent living/living independently means that individuals with disabilities are provided with all necessary means to enable them to exercise choice and control over their lives and make all decisions concerning their lives.” Source

Many of us struggle with finding work or being financially independent without reliance on family. Many struggle with everyday tasks like taking the train or getting groceries due to sensory issues and executive function issues. Some of us need information about food access, health care, and government assistance. And finding affordable/accommodating housing in this city can be nearly impossible.

Join us on September 21st at 12:00pm to talk about Independent Living. We’ll come together to share our experiences, and discover options and resources to help us achieve this goal of Independent Living.

Pre-Submitted Questions:
We want to know what you’d like to cover during the event! These questions can pertain to any independent living topics, including housing, jobs, accommodations, food access, health care, disability and government assistance, etc. Please submit your questions in advance here:
