What we’re about
We are stronger, healthier, more frugal, and more connected when we share our skills. In particular, we benefit immensely when multiple generations can learn from one another and have a good time doing it!
We meet as a group in people’s homes and community spaces (commercial kitchens, etc) to learn skills and listen to life stories from honored guests in our community. The 2024-2025 focus is on building skills around whole foods and food as medicine, whether you start in the garden or in the kitchen!
We aim to host events with speakers every two months or so, with flexibility around speaker availability. Events are suggested donation style ticketed so that we may purchase any necessary ingredients, secure kitchen spaces, and pay our speakers for their time and experience. We also gather quarterly or so to batch cook items to raise donations for community aid.
COVID and other respiratory illnesses remain a concern, and so we defer to our speakers as to the minimum level of protections we take at each gathering. Attendees are always welcome and encouraged to protect themselves above and beyond that level and to communicate reasonable requests to the hosts.
Do you know someone who would like to be an honored guest? Someone who wants to share their passion, skills, and stories with a group? Get us in touch with them! Share our email with them, or send us their contact info and we can reach out to them.
