Join us for a pleasant 7 km walk around Aachen! This walk will take us through the city’s most iconic sites and allow us to enjoy its historic charm, scenic views, and vibrant atmosphere.
Meeting Point:
We'll start our walk from Aachen Hauptbahnhof (Aachen Central Station), easily accessible by train and an ideal meeting spot for travelers arriving from nearby cities.
Route and Stops:
- Aachen Cathedral (Der Aachener Dom) – Our first stop will be Aachen’s stunning Cathedral, the heart of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Aachen Town Hall (Das Rathaus) – A short walk away, we’ll see the beautiful Town Hall, an architectural and historical gem.
- Elisenbrunnen – This mineral water spring is a popular spot for both visitors and locals.
- Centre Charlemagne – A museum dedicated to Aachen’s rich history, including the legacy of Charlemagne.
- Lousberg – We’ll enjoy a scenic walk up to Lousberg, where we can take a break, relax, and take in panoramic views of Aachen.
Ending Point:
We’ll wrap up our walk by returning to Aachen Hauptbahnhof. Those who’d like to continue the day can join us for a coffee at a local café nearby, like Café Middelberg or Kaffeehaus van den Daele, known for their cozy atmosphere and delicious pastries.
