This is being posted as a BEGINNER level trip, please see details below.

**OVERVIEW**
As the event title suggests, this isn't going to be the most ambitious or structured weekend. Treat it as a final opportunity to get out the backpacking gear for the year, get in some activity prior to the holiday/cookie season, train for the Big Bend NP trip or dial in your gear for upcoming winter trips.

We will be staying at the same site both nights. We will be hiking Saturday and Sunday, carry as much or little weight/gear and hike as short or long as you like.

These are average temperatures. Please be aware of the actual forecast prior to the trip and know your limitations and that of your gear!

This event is being posted with a trip rating of BEGINNER despite the temperatures indicating it could be an INTERMEDIATE trip. Although not true car camping; vehicles are approximately 1 mile away, and we will be staying in the same site both nights. This will allow participants to easily bring or have extra gear in their vehicle and to bailout if necessary. Besides gathering firewood to burn we will provide additional firewood to ensure a nice warm fire.

**ITINERARY**
**Friday December 20th**
Arrive as your schedule permits but remember, sunset is just after 4pm.
Closest parking is Lot #3 (Parking Sticker or Pass Required).
Hike into the group site G and setup.
Enjoy the early sunset and long evening with a nice warm fire.

**Saturday December 21th**
Following breakfast and the morning routine we will get out for a hike, possibly a loop of either the upper or lower half of the park.
Again, enjoy a nice fire.

**Sunday December 22th**
Following breakfast and the morning routine we will pack up and hike out to our vehicles. From there we will likely get out for another hike, possibly looping the other half of the park.

Water is available at the park office. Filtering or treating is also an option (make sure if filtering you don't allow your filter to be damaged by freezing).

Organizer Stipend - $10.00
Meetup Fees (Covers Cost of Running FCB) - $10.00/person ($7.50 night 1, $2.50 night 2)
PayPal & Meetup Processing Fees - 3.49% and $0.49
**In Addition To Your $35 Participation Fee:**
Please note that Meetup is now charging an additional fee of 7% (of the posted trip fee) plus $0.50. Be aware that this is in addition to the posted event fee.

Parking, food, water, gear or transportation
