Details

Hello Nature Lovers, Let's meet new friends, go for green exercises a Wellness Hike, enjoy the nature and the beauty of the healing mountains and redwood trees forests for our physical health and mental well-being😇

Off the beaten path, The Forest of Nisene Marks is a refreshing retreat from the busy towns and beaches along Highway 1 near Santa Cruz. Its dense second- and third-growth redwood forest rises from near sea level to steep coastal mountains.

The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park is a state park of CA, protecting a secondary forest in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Almost all of today’s redwood forest was clear-cut in a 40-year logging frenzy from 1883 to 1923.

Four-fifths of the park is covered in dense redwood forest. Douglas firs grow among redwoods. Include: alders, maples, and cottonwoods near creeks; tanoaks in the understory of redwoods; and Pacific madrone, CA bay, and several oak species.

Bridge Creek Trail to Maple Falls is a 11 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail. The trail starts out easy and quickly changes to moderate. It goes through dense redwood forest, steep trails, canyons, bridges and a couple of river crossings hopping over rocks. It gets a bit challenging in some points especially towards the end as you get close to the waterfall.
