* We'll meet at the parking lot next to the boat ramp at 9:30 AM
* On the Water at 10 AM. (If you need more than 30 min for boat setup and gear up, please arrive early).
* We'll introduce ourselves, going over basic safety checks and paddle out towards the bay, at a very leisurely pace, like 2 mph, for about 1 mile, before turning back, looking for seals, birds, etc. (We are not going to reach the bay, which is 4 miles away)
On the way back, If time allows, we may go past the launch dock and go towards San Jose side too.
* 12:00 PM Return to dock. Total distance around 3 miles.
* Optional lunch afterwards, somewhere in McCathy Ranch or Milpitas Square.

Important: Please be on time. We are not going to wait. There'll be a king tide on the paddling day. (Nov 15 - 17, to be exact). High tide around 11:30 AM, and it will gradually gathering strength to rush back to the bay in the afternoon.

Parking: Free parking
Restroom: Onsite (next to the entrance to the park. a long walk from the boat ramp)
Water available to rinse off the boat, if you bring a hose.

What to bring:

  • Your boat (Kayak/SUP, inflatable OK)
  • Must wear a properly fitted PFD at all times.
  • A whistle to call for help in distress. (Some PFD models have whistles attached). You may buy a storm whistle from Amazon for about $7.

Please update your attendance by 9 PM before event date.
