The swim is ON, and the weather forecast looks better than it did. Meet at the usual Long Bay spot (near the toilet block) for 7:00 am start to take advantage of the tide. There will be a support boat, but tow floats are mandatory for this event. You’ll swim in groups according to speed, headed for Arkles Bay, maybe 6km altogether. There will be a car at Long Bay to transport your end of swim gear, and cars to get you back to the start are being arranged in WhatsApp. Estimated time in the water is 2 hours plus or minus.

After the swim, it’s a short walk to John and Lee’s new house at 785 Whangaparaoa Road, Manly. They’ll do eggs and sausages and some juice, you can bring something else to share and any special diet needs.

If you don’t want to do the long swim, you can instead join the 2-3km Tri Club swim at the Manly Sailing Club, 75 Laurence St, Manly. They are in the water at 8:00 sharp.

Or just come for breakfast! Eating around 9:30 or 10:00.
