The group's objective is for sports minded individuals to get together, play and also help beginners with learning and enjoying sports. Start with Tennis, Golf, Volleyball, Walking, Jogging and Fitness and expand to other activities like kayaking, hiking, and trail-running. The events for this Meetup are mainly from a primary group called Bayou City Outdoors. Get Active! Get Social! Get Outside!

We host a wide variety of events every week for our members, and all are designed so that everyone feels welcome. Our utilization of the latest Internet-based technology allows the busy professional to easily acquire and respond to all event information online. With an average of 3 events each day, there is always something to do. We're your source for recreation and entertainment in Houston!
Every Day is an Adventure!
Our outdoor activities include hiking, SCUBA diving, canoeing & kayaking, camping, skydiving, rock climbing, mountain biking, backpacking, and Adventure Racing. BCO regularly participates in team sports such as volleyball & softball, and much, much more - we even have our own MS150 team. We also engage in social activities like parties, happy hours, dinners, museum tours, charity events and concerts. With BCO, every day is an adventure!
Monthly Club Meet & Greets and Public Hikes are free and open to all interested individuals.

Escape the chaos of holiday shopping and reconnect with the great outdoors instead. Join us on Black Friday for a revitalizing hike through Lake Houston Wilderness Park. Itâs the perfect way to de-stress, recharge, and embrace the beauty of nature.
These trails are the real dealâthink winding dirt paths, rolling hills, and dense woodlands. Youâll likely catch glimpses of wildlife along the way. No need to worry about being left behind; we keep our group together by circling back at intersections to make sure everyone stays on course.
About the Hike:
Weâll hike about 5-6 miles give or take. Weâll go the pace of the group but you should be able to hike about 25 mins miles. We will not hike faster than 20 min miles for this hike.What to Bring:
- Water: Stay hydrated!
- Long Pants: For comfort and protection from brush.
- Sunscreen & Bug Spray
- Sturdy Shoes: Trails can be rugged and sandy.
- Snacks & Lunch: Fuel up for the adventure.
Picnic in the Park đ§ș
After our hike, stick around for a laid-back picnic. Bring your lunch, a comfy chair, and some extra layers in case the weather turns chilly.Dog-Friendly đŸ
Four-legged friends are welcome if theyâre well-behaved dog owners. Bring water and waste bags for your pups, and keep them on a leash. Please make sure your dog doesnât approach other dogs or people.Adults Only
We are an adult only social group so please leave your kiddos at home.Fees:
- $3 per person park entrance fee (pay at the park).
- Note: This is not a Texas State Park, so park passes do not apply.
How to Find Us:
Go to the Nature Center Parking lot. Look for the HTXoutdoors and Bayou City Outdoors signs at the parking lot entrance. Weâll kick off our hike from there.Parking Tips đ
There will be a line at entrance to pay your fee and the parking is about 10 minutes from the entrance. Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes earlier than your mapâs arrival time to allow for check-in and parking.Start Time â°
Arrive by 10:00 am; the hike starts at 10:15 sharp. If youâre not ready by then, weâll start without you! Once weâre on the trail, weâll stick together, so no one gets left behind.About Lake Houston Wilderness Park
Spanning over 4,780 acres of lush forest just half an hour north of Houston, this park is the only H.P.A.R.D. location where you can camp overnight. With 20 miles of hiking and biking trails, 13 miles of equestrian paths, and tree-lined creeks for kayaking, thereâs plenty to explore. The park offers cabin rentals and walk-in campsites if you want to extend your stay.

Get ready for a volleyball experience like no otherâperfect for those who love the game but aren't looking to join a league! Whether youâre here to learn the ropes, play a casual game, or simply meet other outdoor enthusiasts, our Volleyball Social is where the fun happens.
This event is all about good vibes, new friends, and planning your next big adventure. Sure, thereâs volleyball, but weâre not about intense rallies all night long. Instead, we focus on connecting, laughing, and sharing stories of past and future adventures.
Every month, we draw a crowd of 30 to 80 fun-loving folks who are just as excited as you are to get outside and play. Weâve got our event posted on all the internet calendars, so if you want to see whoâs in, just check out the RSVP list at the bottom.
Not in the mood for volleyball? No problem!
Many people come just to chill on the large patio, where you can join a friendly game of cornhole or ping pong. With a full kitchen and bar boasting 30+ taps, thereâs something for everyone.
What to Expect:
Parking: Crowbar offers free dedicated parking, but if that fills up, thereâs a paid lot nearby or free street parking. Give yourself 5-10 minutes to find a spot.
Finding the Group: Look for the HTXoutdoors and Bayou City Outdoors signs on the tables. We usually hang out on Courts 1 and 2, which are side by side.

Whether youâre going all-in on New Yearâs resolutions or just want to start the year with a breath of fresh air, letâs keep it simple: itâs time for a hike! No need for fancy gearâjust show up, lace up, and enjoy some outdoor fun. Take on a small challenge and chat with someone new along the way. Itâs the perfect way to kickstart your year with a bit of exercise and good vibes!
About the Hike:
Weâll be hitting real dirt trails that wind through sandy stretches and a few gentle hills, covering 3-4 miles. Itâs just the right distance to ease back into things after the holidays and enjoy the natural surroundings.Hike Difficulty:
This hike is suitable for all experience levels. Weâll keep a pace of about 21-25 minutes per mile, adjusting as needed for the group. If necessary, weâll split into two groups, but rest assured, no one will get left behind. We regroup along the way to keep everyone on track.Dog-Friendly for Responsible Owners đŸ
Bring your furry friends, but donât forget the essentials: water, poop bags, and a short leash. For everyoneâs comfort, keep your dog close and ask before letting them interact with others.Adults Only:
This hike is just for the grown-ups! Our club is focused on adult outdoor adventures, so leave the kiddos at home and enjoy some quality adult time in nature.What to Bring:
