Take any evening ferry on Friday Nov 22 and we will stay at my family's cabin in Gibsons that night so we can get an early start next day.

Transport requires 4X4 high clearance vehicles if there is snow up to the trailhead so space will be limited based on transportation.

If the avalanche risk is considerable or the weather conditions are poor, we will go to Edwards or McNair Cabin in the same park.

I’m organizing a trip to the Tetrahedron Provincial Park Cabins on the Sunshine Coast

The Tetrahedron Club built them about 25 years ago and they are well built log cabins with wood burning stoves, drying racks, sleeping lofts that is even stocked with wood. You will sleep well with that warmth and fresh air only a crackling wood stove in a mountain cabin can provide. Newbies to winter camping are welcome, trip has warm dry destination, minimal avalanche risk, shorter distances, but conditions can turn so you need a positive attitude. Must have at least a three day hike in the summer.

For safety reasons you will need to pack equipment to stay overnight in the bush (tent, warm sleeping bag, insulated sleeping pad, stove, fuel ..etc) I know it’s extra weight but consider yourself lucky if you don’t use it.

Also, RSVP's will be closed 3 days before the event, after this time late cancellations will be marked as "no-shows".

Safety: While we will look out for each other on the hike please remember that you are ultimately responsible for your own safety so come prepared for the hike.

Please ensure you leave a trip plan with a responsible person, explaining your destination, the route you are taking, who is with you, and your return time.

Level of fitness: Please ensure that you are fit enough to join these events. All of them require a good level of cardio, stamina, and strength as there is usually steep, long uphill sections on most hikes and you will need to be able to keep up with the group. If you are unsure of the group pace level, message the organizer to confirm the group level.

Hiking Boots,Poles ,Headlamp and spare batteries ,Water-proof/ wind-resistant Jacket , Layered Clothing ,Water ,Food ,Sunscreen and/or bug spray if needed ,First aid supplies ,Change of clothing ,Camera! ,Your happy self! (leave your grumpy self at home)
