PAPI KONDALU
Papi Kondalu is a hill range in Andhra Pradesh (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andhra_Pradesh), India (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India) whose scenery resembles that of Kashmir (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashmir) in North India (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India).
The original name for this hill range was ‘Papidi Kondalu’. Papidi is a rough translation for partition in Telugu. Since this range looks like a well designed partition that splits river Godavari, this name was coined. There is also another idea that the range looks like a partition of a typical Indian Woman's hair line. In due course, it settled for ‘Papi Kondalu’.

The scenary, including the waterfalls at Munivaatam, and the peaceful atmosphere at this tribal area make this area a tourist attraction. The idol of Shiva (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiva) under serpent shade was installed in Munivaatam of Khammam district. The village Peranta palli is in this area. Swami Balananda (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Swami_Balananda&action=edit&redlink=1) was involved in uplifting the tribals of the region.

The most popular route to reach Papi kondalu is through Bhadrachalam (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhadrachalam) of Khammam district (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khammam_district) .

TENTATIVE ITENARY :
FRIDAY Evening : Train to Bhadrachalam(SL) - 11:30 pm Secunderabad

SATURDAY - Day 1
5:00 AM Reach bhadrachalam
5:30 AM Pick up from Railway Station and fresh up at a hotel.
Go for Darshan @Ramalayam temple - breakfast and start to the boat
From Bhadrachalam - Start the journey by road, vehicles upto boating unit, pochavaram (70-0km-1.30 hour)
Check into boat then journey on river Godavari (60k.m-5 hours) view on boat "Papikondalu",
perantalapalli. Reaches PapiKondalu, after enjoying the scenic beauty it will reach Perantapalli
tribal village to visit Rama krishna muni vatam and swayambu Visweswara swamy temple.
Then reach Bamboo huts. Check out boat, participants will be allotted for Night stay in Bamboo huts.

SUNDAY Day 2:
6.00 AM Local sightseeing by walking in the Forest area with a guide. Bathing in "PAMALERU wagu"
situated in between Papikondalu, is a memorable experience.
9.00 AM Breakfast will be provided at the camping site. Free time for local sightseeing.
Back to huts and freshen up
2.00 PM NON-Veg lunch WITH 2 ITEMS & 3.00 pm BOAT PICKUP.
Check out the boat then a road journey by vehicle to Bhadrachalam
6.30 PM Reach Bhadrachalam.
8:30 PM Reach back to Hyderabad. (SL)

MONDAY - DAY -3
05:00 AM : Reach Hyderabad.

Mandatory:

1. A Rucksack / haversack, in other words a bag u can put all your stuff in and hang on ur back, try to keep the bag less then 5 kgs
2. water - 2 lts
3. walking /trekking /sport shoes
4. Torch / Flashlight /headlight
5. 1 track pants/ loose trousers - full length & a T Shirt and other Toiletries needed.
6. Mosquito repellent.
7. Toiletries required
8. Sleeping bags or blankets .
9. Photo Id (any valid card with your photograph and signature on it)

Optional:
a) Refreshments / energy bars (to make new friends)
b) Sun hat/ Sun screen
c) Camera for clicking

Important Instructions:

1. No smoking and no alcohol
2. No littering, no pollution of water
3. This is not a luxury trip, but all care has been taken to make your trip comfortable
4. ladies and gents accommodation is separate in tents or rooms.
5. Food will be vegetarian & Non Vegetarian.
6. We carry Basic First Aid and if you need anything you can ask the organizers
7. if you feel unwell bring to the notice of the organizers immediately.
8. If you cant swim don't go deep into the water
