At different times in our lives, we have a need to nurture ourselves and enrich our lives. The use of active imagination though the creation of pictorial collage is a strong visual ritual. This meet-up re-introduces each of us to ourselves, harnessing our creative power to visualize life plans/dreams/desires through actively playing with our intentions to enrich our sacred inner and outer world. *(This meet-up is intended for a small/intimate group of 8-9 individuals.) This is a hands-on gathering using pictorial collage in a journal or visualization board as our creative medium. The visualization is practiced by our selecting whole or partial magazine (or drawn) images and using them to bring us closer to our true joyous selves. Through discussion and interactive making of visual images, we will explore the tools of self-awareness, mindfulness, and creative imaging. We will journal our thoughts and feelings with our words and pictures. This whole experience should simply be a time for us to laugh and play with our thoughts and feelings. No experience/artistic ability needed.
I will provide 18x22 poster-board, resources for inspiration, and miscellaneous art supplies, such as colored papers and collage materials.
What to bring: Glue stick/small bottle of glue, scissors, a pencil, magazines (intuitively select any subject you are attracted with visuals/images). Since everyones tastes are different, feel free to bring yourself a drink and something to snack on.
Optional supplies: Journal (instead of working on poster board), embellishments such as: collected or collectable memorabilia, ie.: personal fabrics, ribbon, old keys, photographs, quotes, buttons, dried plants, postcards, lace, etc.
