What weβre about
Building a Bedford community where we tackle some of the world's greatest novels over lively discussion. This group is open to both new and seasoned readers of world classics.
The main aim is to share our love for literature and the ways it has expanded our worldview. In doing so, we hope to echo Francis Bacon's idea of the good life: "old wood best to burn, old wine to drink, old friends to trust, and old authors to read." πππ»πΌ

See all- Meet & Greet + G. K. Chesterton's Father Brown π§ππ΅π½Needs location
Hello!
Thank you so much for joining the club and look forward to reading alongside you all. I am still currently in the planning phase ahead of next year (working on getting a regular location, reading list etc) but thought it might be nice to initially meet each other and have a casual bookish chat over coffee or a bite to eat!
There is no reading requirement for this meeting but if you are interested, I think the Father Brown crime stories by G. K. Chesterton are a nice, cozy read for the season. Feel free to come and discuss any of your favourite Father Brown adventures, or even the TV series if you've seen it (it's really good)!
I happened to find an online version of some of the stories here: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/204/204-h/204-h.htm
PS: Location is currently TBD, but it will likely be a cafe or pub in central Bedford. Will organise that and update here soon. Look forward to seeing you there! :)
