What we’re about
Are you a beginning plein air painter in the Bellingham-Everett, Washington area and you are looking for other painters to join you on plein air painting field trips?
We are:
Skill Level: Beginners who want to learn and improve, and more skilled painters who offer encouragement for beginners. We are enthusiastic amateurs who support each other's work.
Equipment: We bring our own sketchbooks/painting easels and painting supplies.
Locations: People who want to meet at different locations in Bellingham/Everett area. Plein air= Painting from life in the outdoors. Although plein air means outdoors, we can change to sheltered locations during cold fall/winter temperatures.
When you join as a member, please describe the geographical area that is most convenient for you.
Timing: Let's meet on a weekend, or occasionally after work on a weeknight. When you join as a member, please provide details about the most convenient day/time for your schedule.
Our Group Expectations and Beliefs:
Our purpose is not to gather together to form a painting class. Each of us will choose our own subject and project.
In our interactions with others, we avoid criticizing others and their efforts. If we are asked, we may share our own tips, tricks and advice.
We value painters with positive attitude toward themselves and other people.
We appreciate painters who consistently show up and do the work of practice.
We measure the success of a field trip by how much fun and joy we experienced.
