What we’re about
The purpose of this group is to have fun singing Broadway show tunes to each other. All musical levels are welcome, whether you're an aspiring musical theater star or just someone who belts out songs from musicals in the shower.
We'll meet at a Berkeley home and take turns singing. As I'm envisioning it, we'll mostly we'll sing solos but we can also do some group singing depending on interest -- this is a new group so let me know what sounds like fun to you! People who feel shy about singing solos are welcome to come and listen until they work up the courage to sing. The goal is to foster a supportive and non-judgmental environment in which people at all levels will feel comfortable singing.
Initially we won't have an accompanist, so we'll be limited to songs that have karaoke/accompaniment tracks available on places like YouTube -- fortunately there are loads of those! For example, there are tons of accompaniments here: https://www.youtube.com/@MarionAbbott/featured
For Covid safety, we will have air purifiers running and windows open. Please stay home if you or any household members have ANY cold or flu symptoms.
