Hike at Veteran Acres/Sterne’s Woods

Within the Crystal Lake Park District, the Veteran Acres-Sterne's Woods Trail System is a beautiful and rare treat for outdoor enthusiasts. Providing several miles of trails and two dedicated Illinois State Nature Preserves, the site welcomes visitors through its woodlands, prairies, and wetlands. This hike will be approximately 5-mile moderate route. Parts of the trail may be muddy so waterproof boots/shoes are recommended.
