Kids on Bikes: Ride for Families and Beginners

A free 90 minute fun ride for kids, families, and beginner riders. The ride takes us along the Hawthorne Canal path in Haberfield, with the option to continue on along the Bay Run.

The ride will suit young people aged 7 to 16 and their carers. Under 12s must be accompanied by a riding responsible adult. Kids in cargo bikes also very welcome.

Bikes must be in good working order, with pumped up tyres and working brakes. Helmets must be worn. BYO water, sun screen, hat (there is a bubbler at the meet point). Some nibbles and a drink for kids will be provided.

The ride will begin with a 2 km ride along the shared path adjacent to the canal, to Taverners Hill Light Rail Station. On the return (subject to the space being available) we will do some less structured riding on the netball courts. Back at the start point on the bridge for refreshments, for those who want some more, the ride will continue north on the Bay Run to King George V Park and return, another 2 km.

We will finish up at the skatepark near Le Montage, with prizes for best young cyclists!
