What we’re about

Welcome to Bilingual Hikes + Apero, Bern chapter!

Are you passionate about hiking and keen on practicing your language skills in a fun and dynamic way? Join us for an exciting blend of outdoor adventure and cultural exchange!

What We Do:

Our group organizes regular hikes where we immerse ourselves in nature while engaging in conversations in two chosen languages. We alternate between languages, providing a unique opportunity to practice speaking and listening in a supportive environment. After our hikes, we wind down with an apero, enjoying light snacks and drinks while continuing our conversations in a relaxed and friendly setting.

Why Join Us:

Boost Your Language Skills: Practice speaking and listening in a real-world context with native speakers and fellow learners.

Enjoy the Outdoors: Explore beautiful hiking trails and discover new scenic spots.

Make New Friends: Meet like-minded people who share your interests in languages and outdoor activities.

Relax and Socialize: Unwind after our hikes with an apero, sharing stories and experiences over snacks and drinks.

Who Can Join:

Everyone is welcome! Whether you're a beginner or fluent, love hiking or are just starting out, our group is open to all levels of language proficiency and hiking experience. Just bring your enthusiasm and a spirit of adventure!

How It Works:

Meetup Details: We announce our hike locations and language pairs ahead of each event.

Language Exchange: During the hike, we alternate between the two chosen languages, switching at regular intervals.

Apero Time: After the hike, we gather for a casual apero, continuing our bilingual conversations.

Join us for our next hike and embark on a journey of linguistic and outdoor exploration. Let’s hike, talk, and toast to new friendships and language learning!
