Advanced or Intermediate Hike: 9/6.5 miles 2000/1000 foot gain

We start from the Ellie Lane parking lot which is a mile north of Iron Mountain on 67. We go down to the trail which takes us to Iron Mountain trail. Take it up the mountain to Iron Mountain Peak. See the views and eat lunch or snacks. Go down the mountain to the sign and split here. If you want to get home early go on the trail we came in on 6.5 miles 1000 foot gain should be done by 12noon.

Or come up with me to see Ellie Lane proper. Go up the hill to the peak. Then down the hill the slope is severe here both up and down. We get down to the trail we came in on and back to the cars. 9 miles 2000 foot gain be back by 1pm.

Bring 2/3 liters of water we cannot refill anywhere, recommend boots or you can wear trail runners, sun protection and snacks or lunch we will eat at the peak. Bring a jacket gets windy at the peak. Hope to see you out there. Bill
