Every month, Tahoma Bird Alliance holds guided birding walks around the South Sound that are free and open to the public. All skill levels are welcome! Bring friends and family. Learn to spot local birds and make friends in the community.

Join author and naturalist David Lukas for a virtual presentation on bird anatomy. You'll learn about some of the adaptations you can observe when looking at a bird’s skull, beak, eyes, wings, legs, and feet. Expect to come away with a new understanding and appreciation for the hidden mechanics of how birds eat, sleep, and move, along with an understanding of how feathers interact with a bird’s skeletal structure. Join volunteer guide Andrew Larson every 4th Monday at Adriana Hess Wetland Park for a Beginning Birders Walk! This walk lasts approximately one hour. Meet at the Tahoma Audubon office before walking the trails. Learn how to listen, look for and identify common local birds. No prior birding experience required, binoculars and guide books available to borrow from the office.
