**Bookclub - *Frontier* by Grace Curtis**

Join us at the frontier of new fiction, as Bookclub gallops into the unchartered territory of queer sci-fi western. Our first bookclub of 2024 decided we wanted to try something new, so were intrigued by the prospect of a lesbian Buck Rogers-meets-Mad Max, who inhabits a wild west of the future. 'Frontier' is action-led and reviewers compare this (Curtis's second) novel to Becky Chambers and Mary Robinette Kowal. The subtitle promises 'love, loss, laser guns', so join us if this is your wheelhouse or if you just want to try something fresh.

The Bookclub is open to all, both new readers and avid page-turners. Previous events have tended to focus on LGBTQUIA+ themes, but Bookclub is open to whatever you've read... as we know, diversity is a virtue.

These events have a social focus, so prior reading is not essential. You may love Sarah Waters, Alan Hollinghurst (next on my list), Ocean Vuong, Juno Dawson or Donna Tartt, or equally you may just want to meet some friendly faces on a Monday night who can help you discover a new read.

We meet in the Dining Room at the back of the Loft. There are comfy seats, with drinks available from the bar.
