This Meetup is created as a vehicle for connection and community inspired by the Philadelphia region's Black Lives Unitarian Universalist (BLUU) network. Join us to meet with like-minded folks for in-person or virtual gatherings. Postings for connection between progressive Black folks throughout the Philadelphia region are encouraged. No faith affiliation is required. If interested, you can learn more about the Unitarian Universalist denomination or find a congregation at UUA.org.

The Beheld singers were the absolute highlight of the UUA Mosaic Conference back in September. Let's plan a DC area excursion on April 13th to see them perform in concert at the Mansion at the Strathmore. There's both a 4pm and a 7pm show. Let's add a dinner at Busboys & Poets before or after the show, depending on time selection.
Some may recall that Jen Hayman was the USG Music Director from 2009-2013, then went on to lead the DC All Souls choir. Here's a link to her leading the All Souls choir singing Hozier's Nina Cried Power... a rare sighting of UUs on their feet, embracing the music. I get chills every time I watch it... and I watch it often!
