Stamina, not speed, is the only requirement. We wait at every turn of the trail or street crossing until everyone is there. No one gets left behind, but you must be able to do the distance without stopping.

However, this is not a beginner hike. It's geared towards members who enjoy hiking 10 miles or those members who are capable of hiking 10 miles, and want to improve their conditioning.

There are neither prizes awarded for getting back first to the parking lot, nor are there any penalties assessed for getting back there last.

Once again, you must be capable of doing the distance without needing to stop for a rest.

If you haven't hiked with me before please answer the questions when you sign up. If you originally RSVP'd from a cellphone, you won't see the questions, but can go to a computer and hit "change" under RSVP, and the questions will appear.

If you're on the Going list, but your plans change, please update your response to Not Going, ASAP, so that others on the Wait List can have the opportunity to attend.

This will be a lengthy workout trek, on trails less traveled. We'll be doing very long distances, at a workout pace, without stopping to rest, and there'll most likely be an LAC or 3 too, so this will definitely not be a good fit for beginners or those not in condition for long hikes. The goal is for us to return to the parking lot safe and tired.

Our return time and distance are approximate, and will be determined by the pace of the group; sometimes we might not make it back to the parking lot by 1 PM.

We'll be hiking the less traveled trails at a workout, NOT BEGINNER pace but rather STRONG MODERATE pace, without stopping to rest! The route is reasonably flat but there will be a challenging LAC or 3 to get the heart rate up. An estimate of the length is 10+ miles. We will maintain a brisk workout pace, stopping occasionally for water breaks when necessary. The trails we encounter might not be in the best of shape so dress to expect wet, muddy conditions, which means waterproof footwear!

You MUST bring plenty of water to stay hydrated and snacks if you'd like.

You must be able to hike 10+ miles without needing to stop for a rest.

No guests are permitted on BHHC hikes
