I know most of you will be probably at the Turkey Dash or getting ready for the festivities, but I thought I would send an invite out to any of those who have a little extra time in the morning and aren't dashing it, to hike Read Mountain and burn a few extra calories before stuffing ourselves.

This is a 1.7-mile (3.4 mile out and back) hike that is somewhat strenuous. Most of the incline is in the beginning then it becomes a gradual climb.

Also known as Buzzards Rock, it offers you a great view of the Roanoke Valley.
