Weekend Session: Virtù - The Art of Governing
Details
Virtù - The Art of Governing, is a resource-based strategy game in which we will govern one of the five famous city states in Renaissance Italy. The goal is to become the most prestigious ruler in the land, be it through setting up a mighty government, supporting the sciences and arts, conquests, religious influence etc.
One round (which represents a year), consists of 2 parts: a spring and winter phase. While the spring phase is all about deciding and executing your governing focus (domain management, diplomatic annexation, patronage, conspiracy or war), the winter phase is about preparing your spring focus by expanding and/or reorganizing your government and domains.
The options you have during each phase, depends on how you plan a number of resources available to you, including crown authority, religious reputation, intrigue influence and gold. Therefor, a lot of the game is about planning ahead, though the actions of other players may make you to reconsider your plans.
1 friend is already joining, so we will play by 3-4 player-rules. I've foreseen plenty of time for explaining, so newcomers are very welcome.
