Melbourne Boardgames group (party and strategy games)

We play board games in the ground floor function room at the Caulfield RSL on Monday nights. It is a spacious venue with good lighting, friendly people and free entry. You can expect around 20 to 30 people playing on 5+ game tables each week.

Recently we have played the following games:

Euros: Inis, Evacuation, On Mars, Kanban EV, The Gallerist, Ark Nova, Viticulture, Scythe, Concordia, Brass, Terra Mystica, Gaia Project, Terraforming Mars, Castles of Burgundy, Lost Ruins of Arnak and Grand Austria Hotel, Anachrony, Orleans, Dune Imperium, Oceans, Yokohama.

Economic: Indonesia, Food Chain Magnate, Bus, Irish Gauge and Container.

Thematic: Voidfall, Dune (Original), Root, Eclipse, Unfathomable, Nemesis, Spirit Island, Undaunted, Chaos in the Old World, The Godfather, Spartacus and Dominant Species.

Arrive early
The best time to arrive is around 6:45pm as people discuss which games they would like to play before starting longer games at 7:00pm. Arrive early and we can ensure that you are included in a game. However, should you arrive after 7:00pm you may need to wait for games to finish to be included, or if people are playing long games, it might not be practical to start a new game.

Full bar and snacks available
The Caulfield RSL generously provide the venue free of charge. A selection of food and drinks are available for purchase at the bar. Note that only food or drink purchased at the RSL can be consumed at the venue.

𝗙𝗘𝗘: Zero. Nada. It's a casual get together, I'm just helping facilitating the meetup. All I asked is to please order food & drink from the venue, as they are providing the venue for free, help local business 😃

There are various public carpark Wilson and Secure Parking in the city. My favorite is Wilson at 300 La Trobe Street, across the road from Melbourne Central, and cheaper if you book online prior. Or the Wilson carpark under Melbourne Central.
And then plenty of public transport in the city 🙂

What is Euro Games Fest?
EGF Melbourne (http://www.melbournegamers.com/viewtopic.php?f=7) has been running for many years, almost 10 years here. We pride ourselves as a full day outing for any gamers wishing to find others who enjoy their passion. Whilst the name suggests Euro games, our play is not restricted to this genre with many wargamers, ameritrash fans, role players and others regularly attending.

Do I need to bring my own games ?
The club has a collection of games including titles such as 7 Wonders, Alhambra, Ra, Puerto Rico, El Grande, Wars of the Roses, Medici, Settlers of Catan, Looping Louie, Tichu, No Merci, Antike, I'm the Boss, Acquire, Terra Nova, Oltre Mare, Wrott & Swindlers, Bluff, Cash & Guns, Drunter & Druber, Undercover, Stone Age, Amun Re, Cleopatra & the Society of Architects, Power Grid, Ticket to Ride: Europe, Ticket to Ride: USA, Ticket to Ride: Marklin, Russian Railroads, Mombasa, Machi Koro, Castles of Burgundy, Bruges, Bora Bora, Trajan, Trans Europa, Trans America, Ysphan, Bombay, Kingdom Builder, Dominion, Hey That's my fish. Bring your own games or join in others.

But I don't know any Eurogames !
Most games include someone who has not played the game before, so there is always someone new at the table for every game.
