What we’re about
Body Percussion: The Instrument We Always Carry With Us – Our Body!
By clapping hands, tapping the chest or legs, stomping feet, and making various other sounds, we create music with our bodies. Sounds made with the mouth are also part of this practice. Body percussion is a unique form of music-making where the body itself is used as a percussive instrument, standing at the intersection of music and movement. Its distinctive feature is that the performer and the instrument are one and the same. It’s fun, educational, inclusive, and unites everyone in the same rhythm, creating a truly unique experience.
In the workshops with children, rhythm, music, movement, and language intertwine, guiding them on a journey of self-discovery and awareness. As a group activity, it also fosters group awareness. It rapidly enhances hand, arm, and leg coordination, improves right-left balance, and boosts physical awareness.
