**My Sister Susan’s House** is a live-in program for expectant and new mothers ages 16 - 21, who are - or are facing - homelessness. Located in Greensboro, this facility can accommodate four new or expecting moms, and has a never-ending waiting list.

This event will be an authentic, full-fledged baby shower filled with love, generosity, and hope for the future. We'll decorate, play games, share a cake, and most importantly - shower them with gifts.

The program administrator will provide us with a needs list for each young lady. Currently, they have one expectant mom and three new moms with littles who are less than a year, a little over a year, and age two. If we get enough participation, we can invite others who are near the top of the waiting list as well.

So, when you sign up for this event, you're also signing up to be a temporary volunteer. We'll need someone to head a decorating crew, someone to coordinate games, a few to make party favors, etc. I've done this twice before, and they incredibly fun and rewarding!

"How much will this cost," is probably your top question right now. The answer is - As much as you choose to give. And if you want to, you can even asks friends and family to throw in a few bucks to help - the whole cost issue is up to you. And, if you're only able to help minimally from a cost standpoint - that's perfectly fine! The gifts are an important part of a shower, but for this one, the MOST important thing is showing these young ladies that there are people who appreciate and support them.
