Books at the Beach Meetup Group

***Please note the new day and time for the Event. I have been switched to a 4 day, 10 hour work week with Fridays off so I have been forced to change the day of the event. And the consensus at the meeting was for an earlier start time now that I have that option available, hence the new start time. We are also switching to a new venue so get your taste buds ready!! I know parking was an issue for some in the past and that should not be an issue any longer and no more getting stuck at the swing bridge. The management is very excited to have us and the service I have received while dining here has been outstanding. So please come out and give the new venue a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

The book "Magic Hour" gave us a lot of good discussion points and most everyone enjoyed the book. Thank you to everyone who was able to come out to the meeting. I truly appreciate when you are able to fit our meetings into your busy schedules. We also welcomed a several new members to the group!

The winner for the November book from the poll by just one vote is "Demon Copperhead: A Novel" by Barbara Kingsolver. (FYI- This is a long book, so you might want to start reading it sooner rather than later.) Please vote for your book choice for the January Meetup in the poll below. I will put the runner-up on the poll again also.

As usual, we will not meet for December due to the Holidays and will resume our meetings again in January. I truly appreciate all the book suggestions for the poll this month! Please if you have book suggestions for the polls, I would greatly appreciate if you would send them to me because my list of suggestions has dwindled down to nothing! The only rule for book suggestions is....no autobiography titles and they must be available via audiobooks.

****I HAVE A LITTLE SOMETHING NEW PLANNED FOR THE UPCOMING MEETINGS.**** We will be having a raffle drawing (meaning we'll put everyone's name in a bowl and pick a winner) as a way to 're-home' some really good books. I thought this would be a fun way to share some of the books that I have enjoyed and I'm ready to pass on.

Please remember if you are unable to attend after you have RSVP'd, please update your RSVP so that the attendee list is accurate! When the restaurant calls me for an update on our reservation, it is important that I am able to give them an accurate count. This restaurant has been so accommodating for us and we want to remain on good terms with the restaurant!! So please keep your RSVP updated.

It is very important that you keep your RSVP updated as much in advance as possible (24-48 hours in advance if possible).

***Don't let the fact that this is an Italian Restaurant deter you if you don't like Italian food - their menu is extensive and there is something on there for everyone!!
*** The management at Carrabba's will be making the Happy Hour Menu (both food and drinks) available to us even though we will not be sitting in the bar area. WOO HOO!!
