I am very happy to announce a new initiative: the Arabic Book Club! The official launch is scheduled on Jan 22nd, 2025. Lafayette Public Library has accepted to host the club every fourth Wednesday of each month.
Our main focus is to choose Arabic books that have English translations, so that those who can't read a whole book in Arabic can still join the discussion. I am hoping this will bring enriching conversations about the language, culture, in addition to the diverse themes we will be reading about.
To get started, I’m considering holding one or two preliminary meetings before January to go over housekeeping, establish community guidelines, and maybe even select our first book.
