Italian Language Learners Practice!

***When this event page has been update for the specific week, it will say "updated for (the date of the event). Halfway down the invite you will find what we will be talking about to start in our small groups. Feel free to translate and write out your answers in advance to bring with you!***

Ciao! Benvenuto nella nostra pratica linguistica!

This gathering format will take place roughly every other week with a rotating topic and prompts. New prompts will be posted one week in advance.

We will start with 30 minutes of structured sharing in Italian. Feel free to come with your answers written. I used google translate to help with my questions and I welcome corrections. Grazie!

• Puoi raccontarci una storia su voi due e sulle vostre risate?
• Cosa pensi che ti permetta di connetterti con qualcuno in quel modo?

Feel free to share beyond these prompts and ask others questions. Your host will provide little helper cards in case anyone gets lost with questions and statements like:

• Non capisco.
• Puoi parlare lentamente, per favore?
• Puoi ripetere, per favore?
• Parla inglese, per favore!
• Come si dice... ?

After each person shares and questions are answered, we will transition to 15 minutes of talking about the language- ask clarifying questions of each other (and google), practice pronunciation, etc.

The rest of the time will be casual getting-to-know-you time during which we can speak in Italian, but the focus is more on connection than practice.

15 minutes of language questions and clarifying
30 minutes of casual conversation, Italian and English welcome!
