It is run a bit like a cross between a military boot camp and a school playground, ensuring everybody gets a good workout REGARDLESS of fitness level. The emphasis is on working hard and having a giggle while we do it. We vary it each week but we include body weight exercises, circuits and hill work.
Each session costs £4.00 but your taster session is free. There is a cheaper tariff of £3.00 per session if you pre book 15 sessions. Your sessions are ticked off as and when you attend
As you would probably expect, political correctness is absent along with sympathy, but you do get abuse for free. The objective is to finish with people knackered but smiling. it is a world of difference from beasting yourself in front of the TV or in a sweaty gym. A by product is that it creates community spirit and people find training buddies for the other days of the week.
Remember to bring some water for during the activity and a protein snack for after the session. Dress for the weather, bearing in mind we get warm very quickly. It is not a fashion show, dark scruffs are ok, (we sometimes get dirty or sandy) We recommend that you DO NOT go barefoot on the beach during the session. Sharp objects, tentpegs, screws and parts of BBQs have been found, particlarly as the weather improves and it gets busier. A head torch on dark mornings would be good but not essential. A positive attitude and a sense of humour is essential however!
