π₯ Meet Our Speaker π₯
Starting work-life as an Industrial Chemist in the early 90βs, Andrew slowly drifted into the information technology arena, firstly into UI and Database development using Access & SQL, then working with development teams as a BA, then Project Manager, then Program Manager. Andrew has also led development teams at Origin Energy, WorkPac and Goodstart Early Learning. Now at the other end of his career, Andrew has spent the last four years leading security functions, leveraging his passion for safety and risk management. Andrew is CISSP-certified and is now the Head of Security (ANZ & Asia) at Corporate Travel Management, joining in June 2023. Part of his role is working directly with regional Chief Technology Officers and the new Global Chief Engineering Officer to mature the DevSecOps policies and standards, with many of CTMβs large customers requiring evidence that CTMβs in-house built travel management software meets industry standards for secure coding and testing.
π₯ What to Expect π₯
True DevSecOps is the gold standard for modern software design. The concept of Shift Left is about ensuring that testing programs are moved left in the project schedule. Shift-left testing is an approach in software development that emphasizes moving testing activities earlier in the development process for improved software quality, better test coverage, continuous feedback and a faster time to market (testing programs are moved left in the project schedule). This topic will also explore how this not only strengthens security posture but also fosters greater efficiency and collaboration across development, operations, and security teams.
