Brussels Film Club - The Substance & Que Horas Ela Volta? (the Second Mother)

On November 19th we're back for our 7th edition of the Brussels Film Club, where we thoroughly discuss two films in the cozy, dimlit setting of Café Merlo (1st floor).

During our recent Halloween edition, where we screened the classic surprise film 'The Thing', we witnessed a record turnout! Our community of movie lovers in Brussels continues to grow steadily.

This edition, we are excited to return to our previous format, where we discuss two films chosen by you! The films we’ll be watching are The Substance (2024) and Que Horas Ela Volta? (“the Second Mother”, 2015). The first movie you can watch in theatres, the second you can find on AppleTV.

For your own convenience and for the sake of the conversation, we ask you to watch both movies as we like to draw comparisons and spend around 40’ on each film.

Additionally, we are thrilled to bring back our best-of lists to spark conversation. This time, we invite everyone to compile a list of their top 5 movies directed by womxn, including trans and non-binary directors.
