Welcome to another Wheelmen's annual special ride - the Madison Ride. The ride runs on Friday (9-20) Saturday (9/21) and Sunday (9/22). The Saturday options are 50 to 100 miles. . The Sunday portion is 46 miles. You can ride both days by staying at the AmericInn by Wyndham Madison West for Saturday night, or ride Saturday only. The pace will be 15 to 17mph on average. There is also a (9/20) Friday afternoon ride of 25-30 miles starting at 2:30.

This Meetup posting is only for the Saturday and Sunday ride.

Here is the detailed info for the Saturday ride:

  • START TIME / LOCATION:
    8:30 AM, AmericInn by Wyndham Madison West
  • Sunday will be 8:00
  • Friday will be 2:30-3:00
    Be prepared to show up earlier if you need time to prepare before the ride.
  • Here is the route for the 84 miles and the 74 mile and a 61 flatter on Saturday.
  • Sunday routes Iron Man 45 or Madison 43
  • Friday route middleton 29 OB
    ͏PACE: There may be different pace groups with 15 to 17 mph and 18 to 19 mph on average.

    Be prepared to roll at two to three miles above the speed of the pace group. The final average will be the targeted speed after stops and slowdowns for traffic signs‍.

    If you are new, make sure to let the host (Paul LeFevre) know who you are so he can make sure you are not lost. In addition, make sure to have quick access to those Google map links above in case you are lost.
  • REST STOP: Blue Mound State Park, WIS. and Subway, Water and toilet facilities will be available.

  1. Cancellation: We will cancel for inclement weather.
    A cancel message will be sent via the Meetup app at least 30 minutes before the ride. Make sure to enable Meetup app notifications on your phone.
  2. Self-support: We're on our own. Bring what you need for nutrition, hydration, mechanicals, and punctures.
  3. Safety: A helmet is required. Headlight and taillight are recommended.
  4. Personal liability.
    - By saying yes to attending this event, you are signing a release for yourself, and/or a participant under the age of 18.
    - You understand that the WHEELING WHEELMEN, its officers, and members are not insurers of any participant’s personal safety during the above activity.
    - You acknowledge that the WHEELING WHEELMEN requires the wearing of a helmet.
    - You freely and voluntarily accept all risks of injury, death, or property damage. The undersigned further agrees to save and hold harmless the WHEELING WHEELMEN, its officers, members, coordinators, employees, volunteers, agents, and/or other ride attendees from any and all liability for any injury, illness, or damage resulting from, or in any way connected with, participation in the WHEELING WHEELMEN events.
    - You release and waive all claims for negligence against the WHEELING WHEELMEN, its offices, and members for all damages incurred at or associated with any WHEELING WHEELMEN activity for yourself, your heirs, and executors.
    - You agree to be legally bound by it.
