TUESDAY 5:29 Express ride with Wheeling Wheelmen

Details

Welcome to our Tuesday evening faster paced DROP ride. The ride starts at 5:29 PM for a 25 to 40 miles, with multiple fast-paced groups for intermediate to advanced riders. There will be multiple fast-paced groups, 16-18, 19-20, and 20-25mph average speed.

If you are new to our group, more than likely we have a ride that fits your schedule. And more than likely you would be able to ride with someone with a similar fitness level as yours. There are 9+ scheduled rides each week.

Details for this ride:

  • LOCATION: **Recreation Park **in Arlington Heights.
    ͏
  • START TIME: 5:29 PM. Please show up earlier if you need time to prepare before the ride. The ride will start promptly. No one will wait for late arrivals.
    ͏
  • ROUTE: Here are examples of the 28-mile and the 40-mile option. It's a paved road route. A road bike is highly recommended.

For turn-by-turn directions on your bike computer, become a member of the Wheelmen bike club. Click here to join our club.

Wheelmen Club members can access the turn-by-turn GPS route here: 28-miles and 40 miles.
  • PACE: It's a DROP ride. If you cannot keep up with the pace of your chosen group, you are on your own, you are Dropped. The slowest group will average 16-18mph speed.

Be prepared to roll at two to three miles above the speed of the pace group. The final average will be the targeted speed after stops and slowdowns for traffic signs. If you are new, ask others for guidance on which set of riders to stick with for your chosen pace.

If you get dropped, be prepared to use your phone or bike computer to find your way back.
