Toys for Tots Ride

Hey my friends! 'Tis the season to be jolly and generous! We're excited to invite you to our festive Toys for Tots ride - a fun team event that combines our love for cycling with the spirit of giving. Let's pedal for a cause and bring smiles to needy children this holiday season!

Here's the jolly plan:
Date: Sunday, December 1st
Start: River Trails Park District, Mt. Prospect
Meet: 8:00 AM (Toy collection at the park)
Depart: We'll leave at 8:15 for a 15 mile route to Edgebrook Cycles. We'll then join Edgebrook Cycles for their 5-6 mile ride Holiday Toy Ride

Finish: City's Edge Restaurant for a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, we'll head back to River Trails Park, completing a merry 30-mile ride!

Your ticket to this holiday adventure? An unwrapped toy for the Marines Toys for Tots Campaign. We'll collect toys at River Trails Park and deliver them to Edgebrook Cycles. This cheerful event is a continuation of the tradition started by Amling's Cycles and now carried on by Edgebrook Cycles. Let's show our support and make it a success

1. Cancellation: The ride will go ahead unless Edgebrook Cycles cancels due to unsafe conditions.
2. Self-support: We're on our own. Bring what you need for nutrition, hydration, mechanicals, and punctures.
3. Safety: A helmet is required. Headlight and taillight are recommended.
4. Release and Waiver of Claims for Personal Injuries and Other Damages - In accepting to participate, I hereby make known that I will hold blameless the Wheeling Wheelmen, its officers, members, and volunteers in the case of accident, injury, or damage of any kind. I recognize that bicycling is potentially dangerous, and I represent that I am a competent cyclist with safe equipment. I understand that I participate in club activities at my own risk. I further recognize that safety is my personal responsibility, and I agree to participate in keeping all Wheeling Wheelmen rides safe. I agree to hold the club harmless and indemnify the club for all costs, judgments and awards that may be claimed, including the cost to defend such claims. I have read and understand this waiver and agree to the terms. I further certify that if I am signing for a minor child under the age of 18 that I have legal authorization to do so.
   In participating in Wheeling Wheelmen rides and events, I acknowledge that Wheeling Wheelmen and its officers and members are not responsible for my possible exposure to the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19. I voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to and infected by the coronavirus or any other infectious disease as a result of my participation in Wheeling Wheelmen outings and events and agree to hold harmless the club, its officers, and its members.
