What we’re about
Well, you’ve probably finished writing your book. It took you several months, but you’ve finally finished it and published it, possibly on an online platform. Now, you need help finding a place to sell it to the public, and your online sales are coming only from your family and friends.
You probably have already paid $150.00 to the “OnlineBookClub.org“ to promote your book and another $50 to “Reedsy” or even donated it to “Goodreads.com” for reviews. Moreover, I hope you have donated it to the Public Library, too.
Still, your investment in writing it could have been more than $3,000.00 -- You probably paid for the cover page, a cheap editor on Fiverr, and someone to proofread it. You paid the annual fee for “Grammarly” or “Prowritingaid” to ensure correct spelling.
If you’re like me, you probably bought a new computer because your old one was already 10 years old and super slow. You probably invested in software like “Canvas” to include images in your book. You might also have purchased a banner with your book cover for the day you invited your friends for the book signing. And I hope you didn't invest like I did in stickers and chocolates for the guests.
So, supposing that online sales are not moving in your favor. If that is the case, it’s time to consider immediately selling it directly to people at random. If you’ve already left it on consignment at a bookstore near you and sales still need to increase, it’s time to sell it in different places. By selling your book in various locations, you can reach a wider audience and potentially increase your sales.
That is why I am inviting all “INDIE” authors in the Buffalo region to set up a table at some local establishments on Saturdays and Sundays and sell the books directly to the public. This is your moment to shine and share your creation with potential buyers, engaging them in person.
If you’re interested, join the team. Have five or ten copies printed by whomever you have established negotiations with for printing, and we’ll meet as a group to sell the books every weekend in different locations. Together, we can increase our sales and succeed in our indie author's journey.
