The Purpose of Rise Up Network is based on this reality: "One widowed person helping another is without parallel". We are a group designed "For Widowed People, and By Widowed People Only", There are many Folks with good intentions who extend condolences and support, but those of us who are going through this process speak a language only widowed folks seem to understand.
Rise Up provides a person who just experienced the loss of a spouse, a chance to reach out and receive support. Also, those who have walked this journey for some time, can share their experience strength and hope and be healed by helping others. Whether one has a week into this process or decades, we all have something to give. We all at times find our selves in a position needing to receive as well.
When I was on the ropes back in February 2014, it was Widowed folks who poured into me day after day until I was back on my feet again. Thus birthed my desire to start Rise Up.
All Widowed folks are welcome. We hope you can receive the love and support that come when one widow, or widower, shares their heart and experience with another.
