Join us for an interactive discussion to unravel the “Matrix” on Sunday, October 6. As many are now integrating this concept into their definition and perception of reality, we aim to peel back some of those layers together, noting the focus of this evening’s discussion will be just that - a group discussion.

Once you take the red pill, there's no turning back— and maybe that’s not such a bad thing. ☀️

The concept of the matrix originates from speculative realms positing that we live in a constructed or simulated reality. In essence, we perceive ourselves to inhabit a real world, yet are actually immersed in an artificial or manipulated environment. Such a notion raises profound questions about consciousness, free will, and the boundaries of perception. It challenges us to consider whether our understanding of reality derives from genuine experience or a carefully crafted illusion.

In our exploration of the matrix we live in, we will reflect on how easily perceptions can be manipulated and how deeply ingrained beliefs about reality can be challenged. Ultimately, the matrix serves as a thought experiment prompting us to scrutinize our assumptions about existence and reconsider the boundaries between what is perceived as real and what might lie beyond our current understanding.

Meetings are held on the first Sunday of the month from 7:00 – 8:30pm at the Clocktower Brew Pub on MacKay St – a quiet, accessible space in New Edinburgh with great food & beverage options. All are welcome but space is limited.
