Holiday Time Brunch and Treat Exchange (Sweet or Savoury)

Details

I've had A LOT of questions about this brunch. I'll try to clarify here (I've also renamed the event for clarity):

  • 2 groups of 8 people
  • This 'cookie' exchange is meant to be a TOKEN EXCHANGE and not dozens and dozens of cookies
  • To clarify, make 1 batch of something, package them up for each of the 7 other people in your group; think 1 batch of cookies and dividing that into 7 packages (24 cookies divided by 7 ppl AS AN EXAMPLE)
  • This is not meant to be a difficult undertaking or time intensive activity
  • Your 'cookie' can be sweet or salty/savoury, it can be a treat or a snack; it does not need to be a cookie - make it your own (but maybe not bowls of soup!).
  • The focus here is on brunch and spending time with people; the exchange is only meant to be a token in the spirit of the holidays; the focus is NOT on the exchange.
  • To reiterate, no one is going home with 7 batches of cookies
  • Assume offerings will come with gluten, sugar, dairy, nuts, maybe meat (basically, anything goes); we're not writing out ingredients but maybe people are willing to share recipes if their treat is popular :)

I didn't know I had rules, but maybe I do: 1) Don't make this harder than it needs to be (don't overthink it) 2) Have fun with it and enjoy the holiday spirit and the people we're with.
