Martin Gething from the T. E. Lawrence Society will be providing this talk. Martin is also a volunteer guide at Lawrence‘s house in Dorset.
“Just over a century ago, in March 1923, T. E. Lawrence joined the Tank Corps at Bovington in the ranks, seeking anonymity to escape the myth and fame that swirled around his WWI role as ‘Lawrence of Arabia’. Born in Wales, educated in Oxford, and having spent many years in the Middle East, it was in Dorset that he found his ‘earthly paradise’ with its ‘unbroken peace’.”

I shall be having a picnic lunch at the Red House Museum from 1 o’clock if you would like to join me. There are no savouries at the Red House Museum Café but plenty of cake, teas and coffees. You are welcome to bring your own food. If the weather is fine, we can sit in the courtyard.
