**NOTICE: THIS IS A NO DROP BIKE RIDE: This means the group stops for mechanical problems, flats, nature breaks, accidents and emergencies. Members of the group will drop back to ride with slower riders.**

Meet at 5:30 and we will depart at 5:45pm\*\* (corner of Blanding & Gist Street). See parts of Columbia that many rarely get to see! We visit local greenways, landmarks, public art displays, parks, fun/ quite neighborhood streets and lesser known trails/ cut-throughs, throughout downtown Columbia, West Columbia & Cayce. Routes usually average 8 to 15 miles. We sometimes go further, if the group requests it (but we only do this with seasoned riders - not when beginners are present).

We've been having a fun time and we encourage and motivate each other. The distance depends on you and your current ability. If you are new to biking, we will start slowly and we’ll gradually build on your strength and endurance.

After we have all come back, there is usually a group that will head out for dinner and a drink. You do not have to go to the dinner, but it is a good place to start planning your next adventure with some new COAN friends!

**All bikes are welcome**. Hybrid, gravel & mountain bikes, are preferred (road & e-bikes can be accommodated, too). **Riders must have a well tuned/ maintained bike, wear a bike helmet, have a spare innertube/ patch kit**, basic bike tools & knowledge, **rear & front safety lights**, emergency cell phone and plenty of water & nutrition. Wear clothing that is comfortable and allows good movement. Wicking fabrics, such as polyester or nylon, if you have them, because cotton retains moisture and will weigh you down with perspiration.

This event occurs every week. Sometimes even in the rain. The event is canceled if there is lightening/thunderstorms. Dress accordingly.
