Griffith Woods Park Walk (easy)

This weekend’s weather forecast has improved, so I have decided to get in one last walk before summer turns to fall!

This weekend I thought we could explore Griffith Woods. Griffith Woods Park is a 93 hectare natural environment park that lies along the banks of the Elbow River in the southwest part of Calgary. There are many trails throughout this park, both paved and unpaved. All the trails at Griffith Woods Park are flat and easy to walk. Please be bear aware on this hike.

I have never been to the park - so I am happy to defer leadership to an expert! :)

WHAT: Hike /walk

WHERE: Griffith Woods Park
45 Discovery Ridge Link S.W. (east parking lot)
Let’s meet in the parking lot at the start of the trail.

WHEN: Saturday, September 21 at 11 am

DRESS: Dress for the weather. Wear good walking/hiking shoes.

PARKING: Free lot parking. Leave a note in the comments if you can provide or are looking for a ride share.

DON'T FORGET:
- water
- sunscreen
- bear spray
- bug spray
- lawn chair

Note: The park environment is a great food source and habitat for animals of all kinds. While visiting the park, please be aware of your surroundings and take BearSmart precautions
