For warmth on the walk, we will walk up a hill and take stairs to Battalion Park. Join us for coffee after. Yesterday Environment Canada said the temp would be minus 7 degrees C, but they are now calling for a temp of minus 12 C and minus 24 C with the windchill factor.

Walk with us behind Signal Hill Shopping Centre to reach Battalion Park (shown above) for about 20-30 minutes where hundreds of soldiers hauled 16,000 stones in 1915 to build massive numbers on a hill that can be seen from Westhills Town Centre and Signal Hill Centre.

**After the walk join us for coffee.**

**Meeting place:** At 2 pm, meet Sue in front of Indigo Books, shown in the photo below. We'll walk 1-hour walk, Saturday, Nov 30. **Address: 5570 Signal Hill Centre SW**.

**What to bring/wear**
Paths will be snow/ice covered. Dress warmer than you think you need to.

* Layers of under your winter coat. Toque, mitts, scarf, warm pants.
* Good boots with traction or with ice cleats or icers added to the soles (shown in photos below).
* Walking poles would be an asset.
* First-aid kit.
