What we’re about
A group for anyone interested in exploring Big Questions over a cup of coffee or a pint - rationally and passionately. This Meetup is an electronic noticeboard of the Cambridge Humanist Group (CHG). The CHG has been debating and socialising locally for many years.
The CHG is a welcoming and diverse community of humanists, atheists, agnostics and secularists. We are committed to good company and a good life without religion. We stand up for the right of non-believers to be free from imposition by religious views and organisations. We run Sunday coffee mornings in central Cambridge plus periodic pub socials, hold discussions and various social events throughout the year.
If you are non-religious and looking for interesting debates and like-minded people, why not come along?
All of the events posted on this Meetup site are open to non-members of the CHG/ interested parties. We warmly welcome new members and new ideas on how best to organise personal and civic life based on non-religuis ethical principles.
'Try before You buy' - If you decide to join the CHG, your annual membership fee will help us rent venues for our talks and support our campaigns and events. For less than the cost of 2 cinema tickets a year you can make a valuable contribution to the cause of free thought and debate in Cambridge. A membership form is available from committee members at the Sunday coffee morning.
