This gentle, low-impact practice involves performing a series of deliberate, flowing motions while focusing on deep, slow breathes. Often referred to as "meditation in motion", Tai Chi aims to concentrate and balance the body's qi (vital energy), promoting numerous mental and physical benefits.
Taijiquan is slow movement because it incorporates relaxation, which is important because it allows us to work every part of our body by moving by reflex to promote blood circulation and to dispel tension. Slowness allows us to realize the internal aspects of Taiji.
