What we’re about
Cape Town Writers' Network is a group of writers that meets at least twice a week to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard).
The idea is for writers of any age and any background to get together in a quiet, public space to:
Take part in focused writing sessions with no distractions;
Give and receive constructive criticism of works-in-progress;
Review and discuss published fiction, non-fiction, poetry and plays;
Look to each other for education and inspiration.
We are a flexible group, allowing you to come along according to your schedule.
Our weekly Monday evening meet-up at takes the form of a Writing Workshop. It is usually led by one member of the group (decided in previous sessions) and can include writing exercises, a theme, readings and discussions.
Ad hoc meet-ups include pure write-ins for individual work on ongoing projects. Keep an eye on the board for these.
We will also post information about book launches, professional workshops and other literary events taking place in and around Cape Town.
Whether you've been furiously typing away for years or your long-harboured ambitions are just surfacing, joining a writing circle could help give your discipline and writing a boost.
